CONVOCATION OF ASSEMBLY

A. MORNING ASSEMBLY
The School activities commence each day by 7:40am with Morning Assembly wherein students with members of staff pray to God and moral instructions are imparted. The students also sing and recite the National Anthem, National Pledge and School Anthem on the assembly daily during the Morning Assembly. The assembly and the activities therein are by no means optional to any students or group of students.

B. ANGELUS
The school observes Angelus at mid-day. It is not optional for any student or group of students.


DISCIPLINE
Discipline is the ever watchword of the College and the College will not relent in its effort at inculcating this from time to time.

A. MODE OF DRESSING
i. The school uniform is to be worn to school daily and sport wears shall be worn on designated days. Only such uniform recommended and supplied by the school would be accepted at any time. No student would be permitted to use any uniform sown outside the school. Any other form of dress shall be confiscated by the school. Wearing of dirty or thatched uniform is strictly prohibited.
ii. Black laced shoe, white socks and black belt are allowed for the students. A leather wristwatch is also allowed while the females are permitted to use any small earrings. Any other item used by the students shall be confiscated by the school.
iii. Beret is to be placed properly on the head by the female students and ties properly knot by male students.
iv. All students are to have their hair cut low (no plaiting, perming or jerry curls in the school).
v. All students are to purchase their complete uniform from the school. (Shoe and belt not inclusive).

NOTE
On no circumstance will students be tolerated to deviate from normal pattern of dressing.

B. GENERAL AND DISCIPLINARY GUIDELINES
The following are the general rules and guidelines to disciplinary issues in Our Lady and St. Francis Catholic College, Osogbo;
i. No student is allowed to be absent from school without permission from the principal or
any one acting on his behalf. Students are not allowed in the hostel or the hostel area during
school hours.
ii. All bells must be obeyed promptly and the school’s daily routine must be religiously observed by all students.
iii. Every student must be present at Morning Assembly daily.
iv. Loitering around the school compound when classes are on shall face disciplinary action.
v. Permission must be taken for exit from the school, when need to leave the school before the closing time arises.
iv. Exit from and entry to the school premises should be by the main gate only. Always
obtain exit when leaving the school compound before closing time.
v. Students absence from school on medical ground must be reported to the school through a letter submitted to the office of the principal and persistent lateness to or absence from school after warning would be seriously dealt with.
vi. There is zero tolerance for examination malpractice in OSCCO. Cheating at any examination (internal or external) and all forms of pilfering or stealing are very serious offences and may merit summary dismissal from school.
vii. Fighting, beating up of other students and fagging are forbidden. Every fighting in and
outside the school will attract maximum punishment. Any student who inflicts physical injuries on peers, teachers or any school personnel would be severely punished.
viii. The College wages war against immoral association and behaviour among the students. All forms of immoral behaviour, immoral association and any attempted assault on the opposite sex by any student will attract maximum punishment. Pornographic magazines and materials are prohibited in the school. No pregnant girl shall be allowed to continue schooling in the school.
ix. Insubordination, assault, insult or any form of rudeness to any member of staff in and outside the school by students or parents would not be tolerated. Any assault to the staff is a serious offence that will attract severe disciplinary action.
x. School prefects including class captains represent the school authority wherever they are, therefore all students are duty bound to obey lawful instructions from them. Disobedience to any of them and any other constituted authorities shall attract severe disciplinary action.
xi. Alcoholic drinks, smoking and use of unauthorized drugs are not allowed in the school. Defaulters may merit summary dismissal from the school.
xii. All school furniture must be used with care. School furniture may not be removed from the classrooms or anywhere in the compound without permission from the principal.
xiii. Use of mobile phones, electronic gadgets, computers, I-pads and tablets in the school and hostel is strictly outlawed. Defaulters shall be made to destroy the gadgets on the assembly and may face other disciplinary actions.
xiv. Every student must belong to at least one activity group, club or society in the school and a maximum of two.
xv. Students may not belong to any outside organizations (religious or social) without the permission of the principal.
xvi. Keep your surrounding and class clean always. Cleaning should be done before the
Morning Assembly.
xvii. Visiting the school food vendors and tuck shop before or after break is not allowed and no student should be found eating in the classroom.
xviii. Students are not allowed to receive visitors without the permission of the College
authority. All forms of communication with members of the public shall pass through the College authority.
xix. Teachers’ offices and staff rooms are out of bounds to all students at all times.
xx. If on the ground of ill-health or injury a student’s wishes to be excused from classes, games, manual labour or other duties, he or she must report to the College authority with medical proof.
xxi. Any case of assault/insult on any member of staff, either from a parent or student, attracts maximum punishment. If the assault/insult is from a parent, both the parent and his or her ward will face the consequences.
xxii. Vandalism of school property is forbidden. Any student caught in the act shall be punished and shall pay for the damages.
xxiii. Obtaining money by force, threat or by suspicious means and any unauthorized collections of fund by any student shall face disciplinary action.
xxiv. Students are not allowed to receive visitors without the permission of the school authority and no visitor would be allowed at any time other than break time.
xxv. Any excuse from classes, games, sporting activities, manual labour or any other duties on the ground of ill-health must be reported to the school authority with medical report from a qualified medical institution.
xxvi. Any misconduct or repeated violation of school policies, values and regulations
by any student in the school or boarding house shall be reported to the disciplinary committee and due punishment shall be given when found guilty.
xxvii. Gaming, betting and the likes in and outside the school are prohibited. Offenders shall face punishment.
xxviii. Bullying and undue intimidation or any form of student’s god fatherism shall not be tolerated.
xxix. Habitual use of foul and or abusive languages in communication is forbidden.
xxx. Every student MUST be attentive and participate fully during Holy Mass and other liturgical programme in the college.
xxxi. Open refusal to accept corrective or disciplinary measures would not be tolerated.
